Another weekend of boat-hunting and the cat is really amongst the pigeons! Potentially, and I’ve yet to discuss the details, Ancasta International Boat Sales, the UK’s largest Beneteau dealer, have hinted at the possibility that conceivably, a brand new Oceanis 40 is within my budget. I’m not convinced although the numbers are interesting and if anyone has any influence over Beneteau or Raymarine in the UK , it’s Ancasta. So that’s a possibility but with my feet still very firmly on the ground, there are three or four other second-hand boats that I’d be very happy to call home for the foreseeable future. Amongst them, a Grand Soleil 42, a Beneteau Oceanis 411 ‘Celebration’ a 2004 Hanse 411 (that I’ve yet to see but is, on paper, perfect) and an immaculate Bavaria 44.
